Before we get started with the ABC's of CBD and Hemp Oil.

Here are few frequent questions our pet owners ask.

Q. Are Chinese Herbs safe?

A. Yes. You might be thinking about pre-made formula from China. Our formula is made in the USA and is tested for heavy metals, pesticides, etc.

(what people should really be concerned about is if there pharmaceuticals in the pre-made formulas – even the heavy metals that have been found are less than a can of tuna!)

Q. Are there interactions with my pet’s prescriptions?

A. No. The formulas compliment medication, they don’t interact. Dr. Kyle has over 15 years of writing formulas for humans and pets on medications.

Q. Is Dr Kyle a vet?

A. No, he’s a very experienced herbalist and has taken several courses in herbs & animal health. Somone who actually understands herbs and safety. Vets are not trained in herbs and for liability purposes will not advocate for anything out of their scope.

Q. Whats the first thing I need to know about introducing Healthy Paws Herbal Labs formulas to my pet?

A. First, we'd like to welcome you to the wonderful world of a old way of "Optimizing Your Pets From Within".  A Natural &Holistic way to treat 9 common aliments in our pets. One's just like we get from time to time.

We always recommend just like starting a new diet, its always best to start with a low amount. We recommend starting at half the recommended dose for the first 3 days to let their stomach adapt. If you have an older pet, or a pet with a sensitive stomach, we recommend starting with a quarter of the recommended dose.

Now Let's Visit the ABC's

 The ABC’s of CBDs

Dr. Kyles Notes:

Herbs are complicated, so rest assured our products are backed by thousands of years of experience making them the safest and most effective herbal product on the market.

Healthy Paws Herbals uses Whole Hemp Extract to get a broad spectrum of CB’s unlike our competitor’s CBD-isolates.

Just as herbs work synergistically, cannabinoids do too! Whole Plant Hemp Extract contains several other cannabinoids, not just CBD! CBG, CBC, CBNs and even the natural flavonoids may also have health benefits!

Q. What makes HPH products the best natural remedy on the market?

A. Did you know turmeric and ginger thin the blood? Fortunately, we do!  Herbs are complicated and experience matters! HPH was created by licensed, educated and trained herbalist trained in Traditional Asian Medicine, using herbs that have already worked for 1,000’s of years!

When it comes to your pet’s health and wellness, don’t settle for just CBD! We combine time tested traditional herbal formulas that have been carefully formulated with Whole Hemp Extract to synergistically provide the most effective and innovative products on the market!

Q. Where does the CBD Whole Hemp Extract in HPH come from?

A. HPH uses the highest quality hemp derived cannabinoids available from the largest Department of Agricultural registered hemp farms in Oregon, Colorado, and North Carolina. With their unique hemp genetics, their potent hemp plants deliver a rich 65% CBD hemp oil that also contains other healthy cannabinoids including CBC (Cannabichromine) at 3.46%, CBG (Cannabigerol) at 1.29%, and CBN (Cannabinol) at 2.22%.  Their unique and proprietary strains of high CBD hemp naturally produce more beneficial cannabinoids than any landrace or hemp strain found in European or Chinese industrial hemp.

Q. What is Whole Hemp Extract?

A. CBD is the most abundant of the cannabinoids, but there are over 100 other cannabinoids in much smaller concentrations. The majority of other pet CBD products only use CBD isolate, however cannabinoids work together, enhancing each other and increasing each other’s health benefits. Whole Hemp Extract contains mostly CBD, just like the plant, but keeps the other cannabinoids instead of isolating it.

Q. How is the Whole Hemp Extracted?

A. Our source’s proprietary extraction and purification process takes place in their state-of-the-art extraction facility in Colorado. Their unique chromatography extraction technology allows for high levels of cannabinoids, while eliminating unwanted amounts of THC and chlorophyll.  The end results are the highest quality true full spectrum hemp-derived cannabinoid-rich extract contains no solvents, no heavy metals, and no pesticides. The plants’ natural flavonoids are also maintained in the extraction.

Q. Is there any THC in any of the HPH Products?

A. No.  Our source’s unique chromatography extraction technology allows complete removal of the naturally occurring THC while leaving intact the full spectrum profile of non-psychoactive cannabinoids and synergetic compounds. Their onsite chromatography and third-party batch testing ensure accurate levels of cannabinoids and confirms the absence of THC. The end results are the highest quality true full spectrum hemp-derived cannabinoid-rich extract with no solvents, no heavy metals, and no pesticides.

Q. Where do your herbs come from?

A. We source our herbs from a California based, practitioner exclusive supplier, that uses eco-sensitive farming and adheres to the guidelines of the Convention of International Trade in Endangered Species so as not to harm animals or herbal species. Seed to shelf consciousness ensures the tracking and accountability from the herbs’ origin as seeds, through planting, maturation, harvesting, processing, and testing.

Q. What does Synergy mean?

A. Synergy is the interaction of two or more substances that produce a combined effect greater than the sum of their separate effects. When herbs are correctly combined, and in the proper amounts, they synergistically work to enhance the other’s effects.  HPH Products does not use trendy herbs just because you may have heard of them, we use the classic, traditional, time tested combinations that have already been working on common health ailments in cats, dogs, and even horses.  The most superior categorization of herbs and their health benefits was created during the many thousands of years and many dynasties through Asia. Herbs are complicated, so rest assured our products are backed by thousands of years of experience making them the safest and most effective on the market.

Q. What does Third Party Lab Tested mean?

A. To confirm untainted results from within the company, outside labs are used to test for accuracy, safety, and several other factors.  Not only does our suppliers do their own third-party lab testing, HPH also uses a third-party lab to confirm the final product is of the highest quality.

Q. What is tested?

A. Every ingredient is tested for authenticity, potency, and contaminants including heavy metals, pesticides, and bacterium. You can view our report here: (Insert link)

Q. Are herbs safe for animals?

A. Yes.  The safety of your pet is our highest concern. Medicinal herbs have been used to treat animals for thousands of years; they just haven't been made so readily available and convenient until now. However, allergies are always possible just as they are in humans.  If you notice any adverse effects, discontinue usage. Although not foolproof, you can try placing a drop of the formula on your pet’s abdomen -anywhere with little or no hair. If there is no reaction after a few hours, your pet is most likely not allergic to the herbs used in the extract. If the skin becomes red, swollen, or itchy, do not use as your pet may be allergic.

Q. What is Glycerin?

A. Glycerin is the liquid base of our non-CBD products.  It is a colorless, odorless, viscous liquid that is sweet-tasting and non-toxic. Glycerin can be found in cough syrups, expectorants, toothpaste and skin care products. It is made of a group of polyols, organic compounds containing hydroxyl groups.  It can be made from animals or plants. Healthy Paws Herbals uses organic vegetable glycerin to extract the herbs, providing a liquid base that is easily administered to your pet's food or directly in their mouth with a convenient syringe.

Although glycerin is thicker, it is a much safer alternative to alcohol, the most commonly used herbal extract. No need to get Sparky drunk while you’re trying to promote health and wellness!

Q. Why do you use MCT Oil?

A. In order to increase the absorption and efficacy of Cannabinoids when taken orally, it needs to be accompanied by fat. MCT might also benefit the brain and memory, increase energy and endurance, improve weight management, lower cholesterol and blood sugar levels.

Q. What is MCT Oil?

A.Medium Chain Triglycerides are a type of fat found in certain oils. MCT Oil is a colorless, tasteless supplement made of these fats.

Q. What is the shelf life of HPH products?

A. After opening, the formula will last 6 months if at room temperature and not in direct light. If you don’t use the product daily, you can keep the formula in the refrigerator to last one year from opening.

Q. Are there preservatives in the products?

A. Only natural preservatives are used to help prolong the shelf life of our products. Glycerin is a natural preservative however we also use colloidal silver, another natural preservative.

Q. What is colloidal silver?

A. Silver occurs naturally in certain foods and is known to have antimicrobial properties. It does not harm the gut’s beneficial bacteria, however. It can serve as a natural preservative, even at a very low concentration. Our source is manufactured in an NSF GMP-Registered manufacturing facility with a laser focus on purity, efficacy and safety. At 23 ppm, our source falls below the silver daily Oral Silver Reference Dose (RfD) of 350 mcg (micrograms) as established by the EPA.

Q. What is the Endocannabinoid System?

A. Every animal, aside from insects, has an Endocannabinoid System (ECS) that helps regulate several biological functions.  The ECS uses neuromodulator lipids (combination of fats, sterols, wax, and fat-soluble vitamins like A, D, E, and K) that connect with specific cannabinoid receptors.  A given receptor will only accept a certain cannabinoid and will not be influenced by other cannabinoids. The exactness of the interaction is similar to that of a lock and key.

Endocannabinoids have different effects on the body, depending on which receptors they act upon and where the receptors are located. CBD receptors are found in the brain, lungs, heart, liver, spleen, pancreas, reproductive organs, colon, muscles, bones and immune system!  With receptors located throughout our entire body, researchers continue to examine its effects on maintaining homeostasis and possibility in helping regulate every system in the body.

Q. What is CBD?

A. CBD is short for the word Cannabidiol. It is one of over 100 cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant. When you hear cannabis, you’re likely thinking of the high that is often associated with it, but with CBD, there are zero psychoactive effects. THC is responsible for the mind-altering attributes of cannabis, but with chromatography, it is possible to completely separate the different compounds using a variety of solvents. Most pet owners do not want to get their pet high, which is why we use a broad-spectrum CBD that does not contain any THC.

Q. What are Flavonoids?

A. Flavonoids are secondary metabolites in hemp which are maintained during the extraction process, unlike in CBD isolates. There is research indicating flavonoids may also help reduce inflammation with their antioxidant effects.

Q. What is the Dosage?

A. We always recommend just like starting a new diet, its always best to start with a low amount. We recommend starting at half the recommended dose for the first 3 days to let their stomach adapt. If you have an older pet, or a pet with a sensitive stomach, we recommend starting with a quarter of the recommended dose.

Here are the dosages:

Twice Daily. For severe cases use three times a day.

Dosage is dependent on the weight of your pet.

For cats, start with the lower dose

< 10 lbs 0.25-0.5ml

10-25 lbs 0.5-1ml

25-50 lbs 1-1.5ml

50-75 lbs 1.5-2.5ml

75-100 lbs 2.5-3.5ml

100 -150 lbs 3.5-5 ml

Shake very well. Insert syringe, make sure its secure before turning the bottle over. Slowly pull on the syringe until the desired dosage is filled. Turn the bottle back over so it is upright. Carefully detach the syringe. Dispense the formula directly into your pet’s mouth or food by pushing the syringe handle in until all the liquid is out.

Q. Can I increase or decrease the dose?

A.Yes.  If your pet has a sensitive stomach, you may want to start with half the amount of each dose for the first three days.  Loose stool is possible if the dosage is too much.  Generally, it only takes a few doses for your pet's digestion to get used to the herbs. However, if it persists, lower the dose until it stops being loose.

If you do not observe any improvement, you can increase the dose by 50%, or add a third dosage during the day.

Q. Can I track my package?

A. Yes, we provide a tracking number for your package!

Q. What is your Return Policy?

A. If you are not 100% satisfied with your purchase, simply send it back within 10 days and we’ll refund the full cost of the item minus shipping cost. Refunds are credited back to the customer's credit card that was originally used to purchase the products.
